Becoming a Graphic Designer:

A Graphic Designer is more than just making things on the computer. People in this field must be able to plan create and organize ways to fix communication problems. They use print and electronic media to get different messages across. Most Graphic Designers design magazines, newspapers, journals and other publications. Promotional displays, logos and brochures are other types of media that Graphic Designers create.

If one is trying to become a graphic designer it is usually required to have a bachelor’s degree. This is true for most entry- level and advanced Graphic Designer Positions. Studio Art, Principles of Design, and Computerized Design are the main curriculum's for a Graphic Design major. There are also Associate degree and Certificate programs for Graphic Design available from two and three year professional schools. BY doing those programs, you are more likely to receive and assistants job, or other positions only needing technical skills. When having a job in this field you need to have creativity, as well as good communication and problem solving skills.
